Robert K. Oermann writes weekly columns for Music Row magazine and has been published in more than 100 other periodicals.  He has authored eight books and penned liner notes for more than 100 albums and boxed-sets. Oermann is also a TV and radio script writer/director for dozens of national productions. He is a 1990 graduate of Leadership Music and a 2003 graduate of Leadership Nashville.

His latest book is titled Behind the Grand Ole Opry Curtain. Also remaining in print are his award-winning Finding Her Voice: Women in Country Music 1800-2000 and Little Miss Dynamite: The Life and Times of Brenda Lee. Oermann scripted the current Ovation cable series about Dolly Parton and hosts national PBS fund-raisers featuring DVD packages about Chet Atkins, Patsy Cline, John Denver, Marty Robbins and the Grand Ole Opry.


He serves on the boards of The Recording Academy, The Nashville Public Library, The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Nashville Public Radio as well as on several Country Music Association committees.
