It started out as a joke. According to Yahoo, the CEO of Granite Telecommunication told an employee he'd give $10,000 to charity if he shaved his beard.
That following Monday over 400 employees showed up to the office, where 18 barbers were waiting to shave heads for a good cause. The company agreed to give $1000 for each head shaved, while the CEO and his Mom pledged to give an additional $2,000 each, for a total of $5,000 per shaved head.
They raised more than 2 million dollars for Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
If your company offered the same, would you do it?
