MuttNation Monday: Meet Bo Johnson

Before moving to Nashville Humane Association, Bo Johnson came from extremely deplorable conditions. He was one of several dogs kept outside on chains or crammed into rabbit hutches that we helped rescue in collaboration with Animal Rescue Corps back in January 2022. Bo Johnson was a dog on a chain, left in the elements, with no access to shelter, food, or water. It's truly sad to think about where he was versus where he is now. Our immediate goal was to break him free from his chains. Next was to get him to a healthy weight and get much-needed veterinary care. Which will all lead to the ultimate goal: A LOVING FOREVER HOME! We are so grateful to Miranda Lambert's MuttNation and their #LoveHarder campaign. The campaign focuses on supporting shelter dogs who don't easily get adopted, including senior dogs, black dogs, dogs with disabilities, and Pit Bull mixes like Bo Johnson.

Bo Johnson is so thankful to MuttNation too. In the form of a fast-wagging tail and tons of kisses. Not sure if Wayne and Tay are ready for all the BO JOHNSON LOVIN'. Watch the video to find out!

Mr. Bo Johnson is living proof of forgiveness. He has left his past behind him and is anticipating a brighter future. His personality may be described in one word: LOVEBUG. Seriously. After all, he's been through, Bo Johnson is THE MOST LOVING DOG EVER! We all need to be more like Bo Johnson. Forgive. Forget. Move On. Be Nice.

A little bit more about the bestest boy: Bo Johnson's larger than life lovin size fits his larger than life luvin' heart. He is an approximate 2-year-old, Pit Bull mix who weighs 63 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and is microchipped. He's lived with dogs in the past, so if you've got a dog at home looking for a BFF, please bring them to NHA for a meet & greet. Bo Johnson would LOVE that! Because of the neglectful situation, he was in, it's not surprising that upon her arrival to NHA we learned he is Heartworm Positive. It's a disease that's easy to control, but timely to cure. Dogs get this disease from mosquito bites. Prevention is easy to get from your vet. NHA will care for Bo Johnson's Heartworm treatment at no cost to his future adopters. (Our Vet Services Team will go over a treatment schedule at his time of adoption) He also has great potty manners... Just keep this guy on a schedule and you're good to go.

Funt Fact 1: Bo would LOVE a home with a doggie door and a fenced backyard.

Fun Fact 2: If you haven't already figured it out. Bo Johnson is a handsome guy. Who will ALWAYS sit for a treat!

It really is amazing. After all, he has been through. You would never know by meeting him. H has put that all in the past. He loves all the humans he meets. This is why we all love Bo Johnson so much here at NHA. And we 100% know you will too when you meet him. Who will be the lucky one to adopt Bo Johnson at NHA? Because this dog would sure love to be adopted by YOU! He is a dog who is so easy to love but seems to be harder to get adopted because of his breed mix, size, and HW+ status. Bo Johnson deserves a Forever Home filled with so much love. Just like all the pets do. But this guy? He's super special. You'll see that the moment you meet him. NHA is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday starting at 10am. Please come visit and ADOPT Bo Johnson. THANK YOU!
