ABC has announced its first-ever "Golden Bachelor". His name is Gerry Turner, and he's a 71-year-old retired restauranteur who lives on a lake in Indiana. He has two daughters and two granddaughters. He will try to find love among a group of women 65 and older.
Turner was married to his high school sweetheart for 43 years, but she died in 2017. He says, "For awhile it was like, I was having a hard time figuring out if she would be okay.
"But we always told each other when one of us goes, we want the other to be happy. She's up there rooting [for me]. She's saying, 'Yeah, Gerry. Do this.'"
A premiere date for "The Golden Bachelor" hasn't been announced yet.
