Justin Bieber Reveals He's Close To Finishing His New Album

Justin Bieber is nearly ready to embark on his next music era.

“Finishing this album. Stay tuned,” the 26-year-old singer-songwriter wrote Thursday (January 21) with a picture of him laying down vocals in the booth in an Instagram Story, teasing his millions of followers that his follow-up to last year’s Changes is on the horizon.

Of course, this isn’t Bieber’s first time teasing his next record. He kicked off the new year by releasing a brand-new single, titled “Anyone,” on New Year’s Day, accompanying its arrival with a Rocky-inspired music video starring actress Zoey Deutch. But prior to that, the Biebs unveiled not one, but two records before wrapping up 2020, including the gospel pop track “Holy” featuring Chance the Rapper and the Benny Blanco- and FINNEAS-produced ballad, “Lonely.”

All three records are the latest offerings we’ve received from the Canadian crooner since he delivered his number-one studio album, Changes, in February 2020. Bieber’s fifth studio album, released by Def Jam Recordings, debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, pushing 231,000 album-equivalent units.

The record, which sees Bieber merging into R&B terrain, garnered the recording artist several nominations at this year’s Grammys, including Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for the LP’s leader, “Yummy.” Despite this, Bieber was not especially satisfied with Changes’ placement in pop categories instead of R&B — and he respectfully vocalized his disappointment on Instagram.

“To the Grammys I am flattered to be acknowledged and appreciated for my artistry. I am very meticulous and intentional about my music,” he expressed at the time. “With that being said I set out to make an R&B album. Changes was and is an R&B album. It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album which is very strange to me.”
