This past weekend, a couple who were on their way to Costa Rica for their wedding, were removed from a United Airlines flight in Houston.
According to NPR, Amber Maxwell and fiancee Michael Hohl were the last to board their flight. They had noticed a passenger, spread out across their assigned seats, taking a nap. With a half-full flight and no more passengers boarding, they decided not to wake the man and found some available seats a few rows ahead. The seats occupied were NOT in first class, still in economy, so they thought it wouldn't be a problem.
The couple was upfront and honest when approached by a flight attendant and compliant when asked to return to their assigned seats. Not long after, a US Marshall came on board and asked the couple to get off the plane. They willingly followed, unaware as to why they were being removed.
