When a friend of mine at the Country Music Hall of Fame gifted me this book about Loretta Lynn, I couldn't WAIT to share it!
The simplicity in which the details of her life are presented makes it easy to understand (and explain) how Loretta made the journey from Butcher Holler to becoming one of the most respected female pioneers of country music today. It was the perfect bedtime story.
It also gave me an opportunity to reinforce some life lessons that I've been trying to teach my 8-year-old girl about the importance of being "true to thine own self" and building "content of character."
Loretta Lynn is the perfect example of both and exactly the kind of woman every Mother DREAMS their little girls will someday be.
