WATCH: Meteor Lights Up Michigan Sky Over Highway

It was 8:10 pm, on the night of January 16th, when the sky over a Michigan highway lit up as a meteor exploded in mid-air.

Not only did it look spectacular, but according to the Geological Survey, the meteor caused a magnitude two earthquake centered in Macomb County. Sightings were reported all over the region, including Detroit, West Michigan, Chicago and northern Ohio, but most reports came from Southeast Michigan.

Even the Department of Homeland Security got involved.

Video also shows the meteor bursting. It's not yet clear if the meteor actually hit the ground.
