As of July 1, you can now get a Tennessee license plate that says In God We Trust. It looks like the standard plate, with the phrase written in the middle. Would you like to see the phrase displayed in Tennessee schools?
A Tennessee bill, sponsored by Rep. Susan Lynn, R-MT. Juliet, is aiming to get "In God We Trust" displayed in schools. Would this be unconstitutional? According to our constitution, the First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
So far, it has passed on first consideration.
