After much consideration and lengthy conversations, alternate plans were arranged for students in Cheatham County, who wanted to honor the victims of last month's shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Instead of participating in the National Walk Out, some schools encouraged students to spend 17 minutes writing letters asking lawmakers for a more secure environment at school, some wrote letters of support to students in Florida, others listed 17 acts of kindness etc.
Would you support your child participating in a National movement like this? If not, what other ways would you suggest they honor the lives of those lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High?
