First of all, none of this would be possible without the generosity of our friends at the Grand Ole Opry. Thank you for always allowing us to share your gifts with our listeners. This one came RIGHT BACK AROUND!!!!
It was a busy day at work when Elizabeth called The BIG 98. We had a few minutes to talk and bond over the trials, tribulations and triumphs of being a parent. My daughter had just learned to ride a bike without training wheels, which to me, symbolized one more step towards no longer "needing" me. Liz shared a few of her moments too. Although, her children are older, she still reminisced about their milestones.
Amy's At-Work-Perk (a daily "thank you" for listening) happened to be tickets to see Carrie Underwood at the Opry and I had an extra pair. When I asked if anyone in her house was a fan - she said her 19-year-old son Cameron, born with cerebral palsy, was her BIGGEST.
There's an amazing feeling that comes with giving someone an unexpected gift. The joy in her voice had me tearing up. Liz said Cameron would be excited when he got the good news. Ya think? :)
Just a head's up to Carrie Underwood and our friends at the Opry - someone pretty special will be sitting in the audience on August 10th. You won't miss him - he'll be be shining as bright as those spotlights on Carrie.
