Without even singing a note, AGT finalist Michael Ketterer, a Knoxville native, burst into people's hearts. It began with this introduction clip, that was played ahead of Ketterer's audition on America's Got Talent. (Credit source: Talent Recap YouTube)
How could you NOT fall in love with a soul like that? And yes, he can sing. Michael Ketterer's voice moved Simon Cowell so much, that he called on Garth Brooks to pen a song for him. Not only did Garth respond with a "How could I NOT?," he also invited Ketterer to perform at his sold-out Notre Dame show in late October.
Michael Ketterer is special. He and his wife Ivey have been on an incredible journey together. When Michael isn't devoting time to their six children, a biological daughter and five adopted boys, he's working as a pediatric mental health nurse.
Basically, he spends the majority of his life taking care of others. And, before taking the stage as a finalist Tuesday night, he teared up as some of those people thanked him.
After Michael's nerves got the best of him during his final performance, this "man of character, kindness and love" was harshly judged by some folks on twitter. However, Ketterer kept his focus on what mattered most - gratitude and family.
Speaking of...when it comes down to it, there's really only ONE judge whose opinion truly matters most (btw: it's not Simon Cowell, who happened to offer the family $1 million regardless the outcome). And, when it comes to making the ULTIMATE "final call," we're sure you'll agree, that Michael's got this one in the bag.
To quote his son "When I grow up, I wanna be just like you." Amen.
