She robs a store and leaves a note signed “Single Mother.” Does this excuse her from the crime?
An antiques and home decor store in Old Hickory called “Its Always Something,” was burglarized earlier this month. Wreathes, garland, bows and more were taken from inside. Most of the outdoor decorations, including over 30 trees, were missing as well.
After one of the thieves realized they’d been caught on the store’s security camera, she wrote a note saying “Just trying to give my twin boys a real Christmas,” and then signed it “Single Mother.”
Stolen items totaled more than $8000.
Turns out, this “single mother” was arrested earlier in December, for leaving her unattended children locked in the car while shopping at a local Dollar Tree.
Police were able to identify Ashley Taylor’s vehicle from the store’s surveillance video, which ultimately led to her arrest as an accomplice in this crime.
