Vanderbilt Ready for College World Series Inspired by Fan with Cancer

You think YOU'RE excited to see Vanderbilt University advance to the College World Series?

Danny "Goose" Jones will be spending his 67th watching his favorite team make their first appearance in the College World Series Championship since 2015. And, he’s even MORE excited than ANYONE - because doctors predicted he wouldn’t live long enough to see it.

Danny has been battling oral cancer for years. Part of his jaw is broken and a portion of his tongue has been removed, but that doesn’t stop him from hooting and hollering at every Vanderbilt game he can get to - at home OR away.

And, the team couldn’t love “Goose” more for his passion and spirit.

Vanderbilt short stop Ethan Paul tells the Tennessean, “Rain or shine, Goose is there for us. He means everything to this program.”

Could Danny be MORE precious? Bet he'd love some new friends on twitter - follow Danny "Goose" Jones here.
