Bringing light to local businesses that run on kindness never gets old.
Bless their sweet heart.
The folks behind Sweet Jordan's Bakery in Paris, TN are hoping to open a new business this September with a little help from their friends. Just like the bakery they opened in 2017, "Sweet Jordan's Laundry Co" would be run exclusively by special needs adults as well. Brad and Tommie St. John's inspiration came directly from their son, Jordan, who was born with Down's Syndrome.
It was this news segment on FOX 17 that caught people's attention. The bakery went viral and nearly doubled in size within a year.
According to the recent post on Facebook (below), several individuals have stopped by seeking employment at the bakery which is already fully staffed. The owners believe, that when given the opportunity, this "special team" can do just about anything. And, there could be an opportunity for even more. Following their success, Brad and Tommie St. John are moving toward opening a second "sweet" business to create more jobs for folks with special needs, while teaching them a life-skill at the same time.
Sweet Jordan's Laundry Co. is envisioned as a full laundry service offering wash, dry and fold. Customers can choose to have their laundry delivered with the option of drop-off and pick-up as well. The location would be within close proximity of the bakery.
Having extreme faith in their humble venture, the St. John's are giving friends, family and their community an opportunity to support in helping to purchase equipment and supplies necessary to operate the new business.
