One more reason why Nashville loves our Titans QB!
Two US Veterans from Clarksville are getting the best father-son trip ever. Thanks to Tennessee Titans Ryan, Staff Sergeant Dustin Maxfield (16 years US Army) and his father (US Air Force Veteran) will experience Super Bowl LIV together in Miami!
Not only did Maxfield serve our country justly, which is why Tannehill called him a “True Titan” in the tweet below, but Dustin returned home to continue helping veterans.
SS Maxfield founded a non-profit called “The Sheepdog Initiative,” that helps homeless veterans. On the organization’s Facebook page, Dustin’s reaction couldn’t be more humble.
“What a surreal and humbling gift... My father, Rodney Maxfield and I cannot express our gratitude enough for Ryan Tannehill, USAA, and the The American Legion National Headquarters for this truly incredible opportunity. We're also incredibly grateful for our Sheepdog Family and their dedicated support to our community and our Veterans. We do what we do, not for accolades or "atta boys", but because we love our community, Country, and Veterans. While we fully intend to enjoy our trip, we do not take for granted the ability to share this moment together. Please keep all those who will be watching the BIG GAME from afar, away from their friends and family, in your hearts, minds, and prayers, as will we. Thank you all for your continued love and support and we will most definitely keep ya'll posted!”
And, hey! It looks like Dustin just had a Birthday and is fundraising to support Operation Comfort which is another cause that benefits our veterans. A donation would be a nice send off before they leave for the game! Go Titans - next year we’re there!
