A personal call from Reba and a whole lotta faith. This girl is back on her feet after being told she'd probably never walk again.
Mid-May, Aspen Allen ended up in the hospital after being thrown from a horse. She was told by doctors that she'd probably never walk again. This was tough news for an active young lady who loved riding horses. It was even more difficult not having family in the room to comfort her, as the hospital had strict visitation guidelines due to Covid-19.
The nurses were changing Aspen's IV, when a surprise FaceTime call came in. Lo and behold, it was Reba! Aspen had been a fan for years. She knows every Reba song and watched the TV show. So, there was Reba - all smiles - offering words of comfort, kindness and prayer.
According to this article, Allen said Reba mentioned praying for her recovery every day and that she'd be waiting with a big hug when Aspen could walk again and was able to visit Nashville.
Looks like that might be happening sooner rather than later...
After being told she'd need 30 days in the hospital to recover, eight days in - she was discharged. Aspen had made so much progress that they sent her home. Although one of her legs is weaker than the other, Aspen is fully walking again. She credits this "miracle" to the power of prayer (which our girl Reba proudly stands behind).
Aspen says she plans to visit Nashville during the summer or this fall. Hopefully, we get a picture of that hug.
