MuttNation Monday: Meet Martha

Happy MuttNation Monday! Today is all about the letter M... There's Monday. There's MuttNation. There's Miranda. -AND- There's Martha!

Please meet Martha. A 2-year-old, 49-pound, Brindle, Mountain Cur/Hound Mix. She and those floppy ears of hers recently moved to Nashville Humane Association from an out of county shelter partner of NHA's. The shelter had no previous history on her, just that she was found as a stray with her 8 pups. So there's another M to add to this feature: Momma.

No surprise that her pups are truly adorable. They all have her soulful eyes. She deserves an award for being the sweetest Momma Dog. Some wonderful news about Martha's family... Her pups have all been adopted! We all know that Martha is happy with that news. Seriously. When she was told her ears perked up. Her tail wagged. Plus, the look in her eyes. She knew she was told good news. She has been reassured that her Forever Home is next. Especially after getting to be the MuttNation Monday feature on The Big 98! With Wayne D and Tay love and support... Martha will have SO MANY new fans after her visit today.

Also... All pets at NHA are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and get a microchip. So, no more puppies, and no more being a stray if Martha ever got lost again 😉

In the time Martha has been at NHA, we have all started to fall for her. She has such an amazing, and gentle, personality. With her being a little bit older, and a little bit on the thinner side, plus with it being very noticeable she recently had pups, she could fall under a difficult to adopt category through no fault of her own. Of course, we are all being optimistic here and feel that once people start visiting her at NHA - They will fall in love with her and want to adopt this wonderful dog who clearly is the hashtag #LoveHarder.

Martha is fun to be around. She is a bit of a clown and her eyes light up with excitement when she sees any human come her way. She truly is 49 pounds of love and happiness filled with some drool (which she is happy to share by donating an endless amount of wet kisses to any face she encounters)

Martha appears to have good potty manners and seems to know the difference between what should be done outside VS inside. And when her Hound Nose is outside basically smelling EVERYTHING - She is happy and content. She walks very well on the leash. The only note when walking her... She is such a hound. The nose is always to the ground. Which means sometimes a walk with her may be a big zig-zaggy. That just adds to the adventure though.

This girl loves to play. Loves to be by her people. Loves belly rubs. She craves human attention. And guess what? She deserves it. Because again - She is 49 pounds of love and happiness! We could go on and on about this sweet girl who is still so easy to love, but harder to get adopted. She deserves a Forever Home like all the pets do. Just look at her. The pictures. The Facebook Live video. She is all kinds of pawfect. And once you meet Martha, you will see that no other dog will ever Love Harder when ADOPTED!

NHA is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday from 10am - 5pm. Please come visit Martha!
