Waffle House Waitress Act Of Kindness Wins Scholarship

posted by Tige and Daniel -

Evoni Williams, a teenager in Texas working at a local Waffle House, was in the middle of a busy shift when one of her customers shyly asked a question.

"Can you help me cut my ham?" asked 78-year-old Adrian Carpenter.

Williams immediately stopped what she was doing and was happy to help the elderly gentleman, who had been in the hospital with pneumonia and was having difficulty with his hands.

Another customer in Waffle House, Laura Wolfe, was so touched by watching Williams help Carpenter that she grabbed a photo and posted on Facebook. The post immediately went viral with over 50,000 shares! One of the viral shares was a representative from Texas Southern University.

Earlier this month the school came to Waffle House and surprised Williams with a $16,000 check to be split up between school semesters! Williams had started working at Waffle House to save for college and was floored with the generosity.

Waffle House waitress #EvoniWilliams is being rewarded for her act of kindness that went viral. Congratulations on your scholarship to Texas Southern University! From all of us at #KPRC2, we wish you success in school!
