Grocery Store Unnecessarily Censors Graduate's Cake

A sweet graduation party turned awkward when a grocery store unnecessarily edited the grad's cake!

Jacob of South Carolina had just graduated with the highest of honors, which gave him the title of Summa Cum Laude. His mom was very proud, decided to throw him a party, and ordered a cake from a local Publix to say 'Congratulations Jacob! Summa Cum Laude Class of 2018!'

Jacob's mom made sure to include a link to the baker to explain what the Latin phrase meant.

The baker must have missed the memo and felt the middle part of the phrase was 'inappropriate' and left it as dashes on the front of the cake.

Jacob and his mom Cara were embarrassed and furious at Publix for making their self-edits.

After contacting Publix about the cake, Cara was issued a refund and store gift card.
