Listen I am in NO way a train professional on cars or even know my shock plugs to my carburetor... I'm shocked I even know those words exist. But I figured why not learn. My Papa was a grease monkey, I figured it was in my blood at least a little!
My Jeep was in desperate need of an oil change and lately with a super hectic schedule I just haven't had the time to go get it done. Sunday was really the only free time I had and of course the auto shop was closed. So me being the impatient person that I am decided I was just gonna do it myself and I'm sure glad I did!
First, I had to make a run to O'Rileys to get the oil, a new filter and some tools that were needed. And btw I'd be totally lost without YouTube! I looked up "2020 Jeep Wrangler Oil Change" and BOOM, tons of videos came up!
Once I had gotten everything I need, I was ready to go... but then I ran into a bigger issue... STEP 1: Undo bolt to oil underneath... the bolt was stripped! I couldn't get it undone! Literally had to have my neighbor come over with a monkey wrench to get the dang thing off. After hours of trying to get if off, it finally did! And I continued on with a successful oil change!
It honestly felt so good to do it all on my own. So empowering! Really whether you're male or female, you should know how your car works and operates. If you think about it, It's a massive purchase, why wouldn't YOU wanna take care of it?
