Chris Young surprised the crowd with a famous friend during a recent show in Florida. Young was in the midst of performing “Famous Friends,” the title track of his latest full-length album that features fellow country superstar Kane Brown.
In Brown’s absence from the Florida concert, however, Young joined forces with another famous friend, “World On Fire” artist Nate Smith. Young shared a nearly one-minute video of the surprise moment on TikTok on Monday (November 13), writing in his caption that Smith “crushed it” during the show over the weekend.
Young released Famous Friends in 2021, featuring “Raised on Country,” the title track,” “At the End of a Bar” with Mitchell Tenpenny and other highlights on the 14-track project. In 2022, he expanded the album with a deluxe edition, introducing collaborations with Old Dominion and Jimmie Allen, and acoustic renditions of two previously-released smash-hits, including “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Think of You” with Cassadee Pope.
Earlier this year, Young debuted “Looking for You,” “All Dogs Go To Heaven,” and, most recently, his David Bowie-inspired single, “Young Love & Saturday Nights.” He hasn’t revealed specific details about his next album as of publication time, but he said in a recent interview with iHeartCountry that his forthcoming chapter of music is “is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever made.”
