Megan Moroney embraces the sweet stage of indifference after a breakup.

Moroney teamed up with Ben Williams, Mackenzie Carpenter, and Micah Carpenter to write “Indifferent,” produced by Kristian Bush. The rock-infused country anthem “offers a glimpse at the braver and bolder songwriting” to expect on Moroney’s upcoming sophomore album, per a press release issued Friday morning (May 3). It's the third song to release from the 14-track project, following “No Called ID” and “28th of June.”

“Indifferent” arrives one day after the Georgia-born singer-songwriter revealed long-awaited details about her sophomore studio album, Am I Okay? The project follows Moroney’s powerful debut chapter that launched her meteoric rise in the music industry last year. The Lucky era included award-winning breakthrough single “Tennessee Orange,” “I’m Not Pretty,” “Lucky” “Girl in the Mirror,” “Traitor Joe,” “Sad Songs For Sad People” and more.

“MY SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘AM I OKAY?’ IS OUT JULY 12TH!!!” Moroney gushed in her caption on Instagram when she announced her album on Thursday (May 2). “wowowow i can’t believe it’s happening again already 💙 my debut album came out 362 days ago & i’ve spent the past year doing nothing but touring, writing this record & basically living in the studio getting it ready for y’all. i love these songs SO much & i can’t wait for you to hear them! â€Ļ😉💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 OMGGG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING ME & MY MUSIC I COULD CRY”

Moroney, one of the most-nominated artists at the 59th ACM Awards this month, made her Stagecoach Festival debut over the weekend, in the midst of her headlining “Lucky 2.0 Tour.” She’s also taking stadium stages while touring with country hitmaker Kenny Chesney, along with Zac Brown Band and Uncle Kracker on the “Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour.”

“I've been taking every ounce of free time that I have to write and be in the studio, so I'm just keeping the ball rolling,” Moroney told iHeartCountry in a December interview. “I know that my fans are excited for new music, so try to keep them happy.”
