Hillary Scott had a sweet “proud mama” moment when she appeared on TODAY with her eldest daughter on Wednesday morning (December 11). She and Eisele Kaye Tyrrell, 11, performed their mother-daughter Christmas duet live on the show.

Scott and her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell, teamed up with their eldest daughter to write “Hard To Wait For Christmas” last year after a conversation they had with Eisele Kaye’s two younger sisters, Betsy and Emory Tyrrell, who will turn 7 next month. The Lady A artist said when the song made its debut on November 15 that “our hope is that this song makes your family smile and lean into the playful spirit of the holiday season while you wait 40 more days until Christmas.”

Eisele Kaye recently made her debut on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage. She joined her mom to sing “Hard To Wait For Christmas” together in the Nashville venue, and Scott gushed that she was “so undone by the amount of friends and family who called, text, and came to support our girl. I couldn’t be prouder of my daughter, and I couldn’t love singing with her more! 🥹🙏”
