New Polls Show Trump's Average Approval Rating

President Donald Trump's average approval rating was revealed in several new polls.

Trump's approval rating for his second term was reported to be 46% favorable, according to the most recent Gallup poll; 44% favorable, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll; 47.6% favorable, according to the latest ABC News FiveThirtyEight poll; and 46% favorable, according to the latest Economist poll. The president's average is currently at 41% for his second term, which is significantly higher than the 34% when he left office in 2021, his lowest job approval rating for his first term, but also one percentage lower than his 42% rating in February 2017, the first full month of his first term.

Trump's February approval rating is also lower than his last 10 elected predecessors with former President Joe Biden having a 57% favorability in February 2021; former President Barack Obama at 64% in February 2009; former President George W. Bush at 64% in February 2001; former President Bill Clinton at 55% in February 1993; former President George H.W. Bush at 63% in February 1989; former President Ronald Reagan at 53% in February 1981; former President Jimmy Carter in February 1977; former President Richard Nixon at 60% in February 1969; former President John F. Kennedy at 72% in February 1961; and former President Dwight D. Eisenhower at 68% in February 1953. Trump's previous highest job approval rating for his first term was 49%, which he scored during his first five consecutive months in office and his 47% from January 21 to January 27, 2025, was the highest of his current term.
