Widespread power outages continue following the winter storm.
More than 209,000 homes and businesses were without electricity across Tennessee as of 5 p.m. Monday. 155,000 of the outages were Nashville Electric Service customers.
Williamson Emergency Management has opened warming shelters at Fairview High School and Franklin High School. Limited food and animal support services will be available.
Extreme Cold Warning for all of Middle Tennessee tonight through tomorrow morning. Single digit to below zero temperatures likely overnight; this is a life threatening cold for those without power.
Temperatures will struggle to get above freezing this week. This period of freezing temperatures will prolong winter impacts for several days, possibly through much of the week for much of middle Tennessee.
