Ella Langley shared “one of the biggest regrets of my life.”
The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Best New Country Artist, 27, recently caught up with Bobby Bones, who asked her which instruments she learned first as a child. Langley reflected, “I started taking piano lessons young, really young. And I was so young, I was, like, trying to learn it by ear, and the teacher was getting aggravated with me. So they told me I was too young. and then I never went back, and that’s like, one of the biggest regrets of my life.
Langley went on to share that her grandmother put her in piano lessons. “My grandpa was [a piano player], but my grandma grew up singing in church. So just always thought it was really important to learn, and still literally one of the biggest regrets. I can only play a little by ear…so, really, the first one I learned is guitar.”
Langley released her highly-anticipated sophomore studio record, Dandelion, last month, following her 2024 debut, hungover. The 18-track album includes the title track, Langley’s history-making “Choosin’ Texas,” “Be Her,” “Loving Life Again,” “Butterfly Season” with Miranda Lambert, and more. Langley shared in a statement, “dandelions are masters of survival, thriving in even the harshest environments. Often dismissed as a common weed, this unassuming plant carries a deeper symbolism of hope, healing and resilience. This next record, to me, has so much growth in it. I feel the most myself I’ve ever felt. I want you to dance. I want you to sing. I want you to be able to relate to these words in a way where you don’t feel alone in your thoughts. I want you to not even worry about anything and daydream and listen to these songs. I want you to enjoy them with your friends and family. I’ve thought about this record every single day for the last year and a half, and I’m so excited to finally say… Welcome to Dandelion.” Find Langley's music on iHeartRadio here.
