Lainey Wilson and her new husband, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, proved they can keep a secret. The newlyweds kept details about their wedding under wraps until they made their announcement this week.
Wilson, 33, and Hodges, 30, got married at the Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, outside of Nashville, on Sunday (May 10). The country superstar an the former NFL player announced their marriage on Thursday (May 14) when they and Vogue Weddings shared stunning photos by Corbin Gurkin on Instagram. iHeartRadio’s Brooke Taylor said she was “shocked” to learn Wilson had tied the knot.
“Honestly, I was shocked seeing these pictures because, man, is she good at keeping a secret,” Taylor said. “Lainey Wilson is a married woman. Her and her husband — well, now husband — ‘Duck,’ they married without letting any of the public know. It happened on Sunday, May 10, on Mother’s Day, out in Dickson. They got married at Ruskin Cave, which is such a beautiful, beautiful venue if you’ve never been there. And the photos speak for themselves.”
Wilson said in an interview with Vogue Weddings that “Duck and I were driving backroads in Tennessee and saw a billboard for The Ruskin Cave. Duck said, ‘You wanna get married there?’ I said, ‘Done deal.’ We dropped by, saw the venue, and fell in love with the natural beauty of the cave and the simplicity of the property.” The Whirlwind artist later exclaimed in the caption of a joint Instagram post with Hodges, “we’re hitched!”
