Sheryl Crow listed her Top 5 songs — and reflected on the stories behind them — during a recent conversation with Bobby Bones.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member caught up with Bobby Bones on a new episode of The BobbyCast on Tuesday (May 19). During the pair’s conversation, the iHeartRadio personality asked Crow to rank her 5 best songs spanning her career. Crow replied:

  1. “My Favorite Mistake,” sharing that “it’s the only song that when it comes on the radio, I don’t turn it off.”
  2. “Redemption Day,” which she wrote “after I went and played for the troops in Bosnia,” and Johnny Cash later recorded.
  3. “If It Makes You Happy,” written after people said “she doesn’t even write her own songs,” Crow explained.
  4. “Everyday Is a Winding Road,” written after losing a friend and Crowded House bandmate who struggled with depression. The song has had “a lot of different lives” since, Crow said.
  5. “I Shall Believe,” which she considers “my faith song.”

Throughout the episode of Th BobbyCast, Crow reflected “n some of the biggest moments in her life and career, from the surreal experience of meeting the Pope to the personal journey that led her to adoption. She shares how she knew she was ready to become a parent, what it was like touring with babies, and the adjustments that came with balancing motherhood and a massive music career. Sheryl also opens up about how adoption changed her priorities, how she made life on the road work with kids, and the moments that helped shape this next chapter of her life,” the episode’s description reads.
