The Super Bowl is officially headed to Nashville, Tennessee, and the internet is already buzzing with picks for a halftime show headliner.
The NFL confirmed on Tuesday (May 19) that Super Bowl LXIV will take place in Music City in 2030. The Tennessee Titans’ new Nissan Stadium is slated to open along the Cumberland River, directly across from the current venue, in 2027. iHeartRadio’s Brooke Taylor spoke about the upcoming Super Bowl in Nashville, and some of the artists fans are saying they want to see at the halftime show.
“So, following the big news yesterday about the Super Bowl coming here to Nashville in 2030, here on 97.9, The BIG 98. The internet basically exploded within minutes talking about who’s gonna be doing the halftime show that year. Now listen. We’re a couple years away, but everybody’s saying Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Ella Langley, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs. So many were mentioned, and let’s just say, how about we just do a big compilation of all of our favorite country artists? So many collaborations, all the things. If we got to pick, we know that it would be an incredible halftime show. Anyway, 2030, Super Bowl is gonna be at the new Nissan Stadium. If you missed those details, we got them up for you at thebig98.com.”
Country artists have rarely taken the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show. In 1994, the “Rockin’ Country Sunday” show included Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt and The Judds (mother-daughter duo Naomi Judd and Wynonna Judd). In 2003, Shania Twain performed in a genre-blending show with No Doubt and Sting. Other artists have delivered moving renditions of the National Anthem, including Stapleton, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire and more.
