New Florida Georgia Line teasers on Tuesday (June 2) have ignited further eagerness for a reunion.
The duo’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley announced that they were “taking a break” as a duo in February 2022, and they played their final Florida Georgia Line performance later that year. They’ve since posted photos with one another on social media, stirring anticipation for a possible FGL reunion. The BIG 98’s Wayne D and Tay spotted a few clues that seem to indicate a surprise performance at CMA Fest over the weekend. The star-studded event is slated to kick off on Thursday (June 4), and run through Sunday (June 7).
Wayne D and Tay think it’s “a dead giveaway,” that “the boys are back,” at the longest-running country music festival int he world. They noticed Florida Georgia Line’s updated profile photo on the duo’s social media pages — the first update since 2021 — and billboards reading “FGL LFG,” apparently standing for Florida Georgia Line, Let’s F***ing Go. Wayne D said on Instagram earlier in the day that this is “hands down, the biggest story in country music is happening as we speak. …The boys are back, baby. Or are they?”
Hubbard and Kelley have hinted at the possibility of a Florida Georgia Line reunion in recent months. Kelley said on an episode of Country Outdoors, a Field and Stream podcast, “I think the options are endless right now. It’s really cool to see what time can do, as well. …But if I do think about it, it does excite me. So, we’ll see.” Hubbard told Entertainment Tonight’s Cassie DiLaura on the red carpet at the 61st ACM Awards that there’s “no new FGL music,” but “we have been toying around and flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year. And so, that gets us both excited. …We’re just enjoying this time together.”
