Runaway June stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to share some life updates and what's been happening in their career lately.
Stevie recently got engaged and she did have an idea it was coming. They had a conversation about it not too long before the engagement and she requested that the engagement just be them two. So her now fiancé set up a bunch of candles at their place and then got down on one knee. Jen is a well-known songwriter and one of her biggest songs "She Don't Love You" by Eric Paslay won a whole lot of awards. For Natalie, she just celebrated an anniversary with her husband of 16+ years.
When Bobby Bones asked them the hardest part about being in a band, they all agreed that compromising can be difficult. For them, they all had a friendship and musical connection right off the bat and traveling was a bit of a grind, but their connection made it bearable. Sometimes they've had to learn to compromise and trust one another because one of them really wants something, but the other two don't agree on it. Natalie noted that it's good to have 3 of them because there's always going to be a majority in the rules of voting. All three of them are incredibly talented with instruments as well. When Natalie was younger, she was asked to appear on Oprah to play the fiddle between her legs. She can also do animal noises with the fiddle, which is something Bobby or Eddie had no idea about despite all being in the Raging Idiots together. Jen played the piano since she was a kid, it wasn't until she was 18 years old when she got her first guitar. She was a natural songwriter, writing her first song on that very first day she got her guitar.
The trio's latest song "New Kind of Emotion" is one they wrote together and it's their favorite so far. They were able to pull from each of their life experiences like Natalie being married for years, Jen just having her baby, and Stevie falling in love with their husband. All of those meanings are wrapped up into this one song.
