Books With Box: Lunchbox Reviews "Warriors Don't Cry"

Welcome to #BooksWithBox! I recommend one book a month that I enjoyed reading and I think you should read. I would love you to pick up the books I am reading, because I would never steer you wrong. The fourth review up is Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Pattillo Beals.

Going to high school is one of the toughest times in a kid's life, because puberty makes us all act like idiots. Kids are rude to each other, you have to make friends, and most people don't know who they really are as a person.

Then you pick up this book to read about Melba Pattillo Beals and eight other teenagers and what they went through as they integrated Little Rock’s Central High School in the wake of the landmark 1954 Supreme Court ruling, Brown v. Board of Education.

Day in and day out they were harassed, threatened, and had to worry about worry if they were going to live to see another day. Your heart is going to hurt when you read how they were treated and you will get so see how courageous these individuals were. It's an eye opening read that will bring all the emotions out but you won't be able to put it down.
