MuttNation Monday: Meet Suki

Allow us to introduce you to a Nashville Humane Association (NHA) dog who's available for adoption and looking for her Forever Home...

All of us LOVE how Miranda Lambert's MuttNation #LoveHarder campaign focuses on harder to adopt dogs such as The Bully Breed, The Black Dogs and The Senior Dogs because they truly do deserve their own special spotlight. So, without further ado, please meet SUKI. A wonderful dog here at Nashville Humane Association (NHA) who checks off two of those #LoveHarder boxes. Suki is a 10 and 1/2-year-old Black Lab mix who weighs 70 pounds. Even though she is an angel, housebroken, and pretty much perfect in every way, she is getting overlooked at NHA. Which is unfortunate because this almost 11-year-old black dog is totally filled with sweetness and love!

Suki is a laid back and chill kind of gal with a get up and go attitude when she notices a leash. She also has the same attitude when she sees a blanket and a squishy bed. Either going for strolls around the neighborhood or hanging inside with air conditioning - Suki is ready for whatever you want to do! And she will do it right by your side. When she is with her people, Suki is the happiest! She truly is a dog that will pretty much do well in any type of home she moves to.

One of her favorite things is going for a walk in the park on a nice, warm, sunny day and then sitting on the grass with her people. Taking in the sights under a shaded tree while being whispered in her ear "Who's a good girl" which then she will answer back (with a kiss and a wagging tail) "I AM!'

Another one of her favorite things are soft squishy beds. Covered with a blanket. Surrounded by toys. That is truly senior dog living at its finest. NHA Staff and Volunteers do their best daily to hook their favorite senior up with all her most favorite things. Which leads us to a recent incident at NHA that involved a new bed NHA Staff gave Suki. We feel we must warn all pet owners to be careful: We accidentally gave Suki one of those exploding beds! We feel terrible that Suki went through this, but as you can see by the smile, she found the humor in it just like all of us at NHA did. She even posed for this fabulous picture before her kennel's winter wonderland was cleaned up.

See:

Oh Suki. We just love you! Some more about this spectacular senior...

Suki was transported several weeks ago to NHA from one of our community partners which was overcrowded and beyond capacity with pets. Being a senior, black, large, mixed breed dog, Suki was getting overlooked. Even though she is a fabulous dog, she was not getting an opportunity to show off how fabulous she is! Seriously, Suki will do well in any home environment: she's comfortable around other house pets, children, and every other thing she meets. Except garbage trucks. No offence, but to her nose and ears they are noisy and stinky and as far as Suki is concerned, they deserve to be barked at.

We're excited Suki is at NHA. She's made new friends with The Big 98. And of course, she'll be forever thankful to Miranda Lambert for giving her this "MuttNation Monday" opportunity! Paws are totally crossed that after this feature, Suki will have the Forever Home we all dream for her! Please enjoy her pictures and her video with Wayne andTay. By now you are most likely thinking "SUKI IS THE ONE FOR ME" and you're right. You must meet her in person - So, please come meet this amazing dog at NHA!

Once you meet SUKI you will see that no other dog will ever #LoveHarder when ADOPTED! Nashville Humane Association (NHA) is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday starting at 10am and Suki can't wait to meet her future forever family!
