MuttNation Monday: Lindy Hop

If you Google "LINDY HOP" you'll discover it was a dance popular in America during the swing era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. But when you add "NASHVILLE HUMANE" to your "LINDY HOP" Google search you will find one of the most playful Adult Dogs on Nashville Humane Association's Adoption Floor. That's right... it's time to do a little dance with us as you get to know Available2Adopt LINDY HOP!

NHA Staff and Volunteers all have a crush on Lindy Hop. She is just one of those very polite dogs with a sense of humor who you pretty much fall in love with the moment you meet. Also... Anyone out there reading this... Please don't let her size plus the fact that she is mixed with "GERMAN SHEPHERD" intimidate you in any way. Lindy Hop is a total love bug who adores her stuffed toy animal friends, and slobbery rope toys, as much as her people friends. Fun Fact: She also is mixed with GREAT DANE. Yes. It's true. Pretty sure that's where her clown-like-Marmaduke personality comes from. And those legs for days!

Lindy Hop is young. Just a year old. She currently weighs 58 pounds. She's tall too. And snuggly. And oh-so-very-playful! She enjoys playing tug-o-war and fetch just as much as she enjoys dog relax belly rub time with her humans. She knows to sit, is housebroken, and trust us; she will fill your heart with oh-so-much love! Such a beautiful doggo who is looking for a forever home where she will put a smile on your face 24/7. She wants all your love. In return, she'll give you all of hers.

*Side Note* Her guilty pleasure is a Pupperoni Treats... As Lindy Hop would like you to know:

"Hi Future Family, my name is Lindy Hop and I am the perfect balance of silly and sweet! Some of my favorite things to do are playing with my stuffies, snuggling close to my people, or stealing some Pupperoni when nobody's watching! I recently had a ROVERNIGHT (aka a fun sleepover away from the shelter) and that family said I was very smart + was the most pawfect house guest!! I always sat so nicely when asked, and I would learn so much more with some Pupperoni treats. Did I mention how much I liked Pupperoni? Yup. They are my guilty pleasure. If you're looking for an adventure buddy during the day and a snuggle buddy at night, I am your girl!"

You'll notice that even at such a young age, Lindy Hop has been a momma dog. Pretty sure she was the ultimate mom. You can just tell when you look into her eyes. One can't help but notice her nurturing nature. But no more accidental litters for her. Like all pets at NHA on NHA's adoption floor, Lindy Hop is now spayed. She is up to date on shots and microchipped. Also, Lindy Hop is also Heartworm Positive. It's a disease that's easy to control, but timely to cure. Dogs get this disease from mosquito bites. Prevention is easy to get from your vet. Please know that NHA will care for Lindy Hop's Heartworm treatment at no cost to her future adopters. (Our Vet Services Team will go over a treatment schedule at her time of adoption)

We could go on and on about this pawfect playful pupperdog who is so easy to love, but harder to get adopted because of her size, breed, and heartworm status. Still. MuttNation Mondays is all about looking beyond the myths and just looking at the beautiful dog being featured. We hope you will too.

Once you meet Lindy Hop, you will see that no other dog will ever #LoveHarder when ADOPTED! All of us at NHA + Wayne D Show can't wait for that day to happen! Maybe Wayne and Tay will do the Lindy Hop Dance when she gets adopted? Just putting that fun thought (and visual) out there!

Who will be the lucky one to adopt Lindy Hop? Girl is looking for her Forever Home Dance Partner. Let's make that happen: VISIT NHA.
