Please allow us to introduce you to a Nashville Humane Association (NHA) Adult Dog who's available for adoption and looking for her Forever Home. Her name? Everyone: MEET SUE!
All of us at NHA LOVE how Miranda Lambert's MuttNation #LoveHarder campaign focuses on harder to adopt dogs such as The Bully Breed, The Black Dogs, and The Senior Dogs. So, without further ado, please meet a dog who fits two of those categories, a 4-year-old dog named SUE. She is simply a wonderful Black Pittie mix who weighs 71 pounds. Even though she is an angel, friendly, housebroken, and pretty has all the best behaviors one wants in a bff, she is not having the best of luck finding a forever home at NHA. She has been adopted twice AND returned twice. Which is unfortunate because this dog totally rocks. SUE is filled with sweetness, love, curiosity, smarts and spunk. She is also dog friendly and has had human playmates as young as 8 years old.
Says her human friends at NHA: "Sue is an energetic and playful girl who brings joy to everyone she meets. With a contagious enthusiasm for life, she's always on the go, whether she's running, jumping, or chasing after a ball. But despite her boundless energy, Sue is also a master cuddler, and loves nothing more than snuggling up with her favorite humans for some quality relaxation time. Born with a natural sense of humor and a talent for making people smile, Sue has a goofy streak that makes her a delight to be around. Whether she's playing a prank on her friends or simply doing something silly, she has a way of bringing laughter and lightness to any situation. Overall, Sue is a vibrant and loving girl with a heart of gold. Whether she's running around outside or snuggling up on the couch, she's always ready to make the most of every moment and bring happiness to those around her!"
It's true... SUE is a laid back, dog friendly, chill kind of gal with an energetic plus get up and go attitude when she notices a leash. She also has the same attitude when she sees a blanket and a squishy bed. Either going for strolls around the neighborhood or hanging inside demanding belly rubs and treats - SUE is ready for whatever you want to do! And she will do it right by your side. When she is with her people, she is the happiest! One of SUE's most favorite things to do is going for a walk. She adores taking in the sights, while strutting with a tail wag. She also knows basic commands. Ask her to sit and she will. Guess what? Before you ask... she reaches out to shake!

Some more about SUE... She was transported to NHA back in 2019 from one of our community partners which was overcrowded and beyond capacity with pets. Being an adult, black, Pit Bull mix dog, she was getting overlooked. Even though she is an amazing dog, she was not getting an opportunity to show off how amazing she is. We're excited SUE has made new friends with The Big 98's Wayne D Show. Plus, of course, she'll be forever thankful to Miranda Lambert for giving her this "Love Harder MuttNation Monday" opportunity! Today is extra special. She is getting the best "Adopt Me" spotlight EVER! And we are also hoping (with our paws crossed) that third time will be a charm for SUE when it comes to adoptions. This girl deserves it.
NHA is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday starting at 10am and RUE can't wait to meet her future forever family!
