Maggie Rose teamed up with beloved singer-songwriter Vince Gill on her stunning rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” Rose’s version of the classic ballad made its debut on Friday (January 10).
Rose said it was “so incredibly special to duet ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ with the legendary [Vince Gill],” she wrote in an Instagram caption with a snippet of her newly-released rendition. “I hope you all love it.” Rose previously said the early 90s ballad “has always been one of my all-time favorite songs. Vince Gill has always been one of my all-time favorite musicians. It is nothing short of a dream that I got to record a duet with [Gill]” on the song.
Raitt released “I Can’t Make You Love Me” on her eleventh studio record, Luck of the Draw, in 1991. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, hailed “one of the greatest singers and guitarists of all time,” is also known for career-spanning hits like “Something To Talk About,” “Not The Only One,” “Nick Of Time,” “Made Up Mind,” “Runaway” and many more.
Rose, whose latest full album is No One Gets Out Alive, recently announced she’s pregnant with Baby No. 1. Rose and her husband, Austin Marshall, will welcome a son in April, the Grammy Award nominee confirmed as she debuted her growing baby bump. Rose said she’s “so thankful to our families, friends and the huge community who continue to support us as we begin this new chapter.”
