Brad Paisley and Los Angeles, California-based American folk rock band Dawes joined forces to debut a powerful new collaboration, “Raining Inside.”
Paisley teamed up with Dawes lead vocalist Taylor Goldsmith, plus Lee Thomas Miller, to write “Raining Inside” last year. Paisley initially recorded the ballad himself, but he “was inspired into a collaboration after the magic of the Grammy performance with Taylor and his brother Griffin (Dawes) on Randy Newman’s ‘I Love L.A.’ with an all-star band that included Brad, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, John Legend, and St. Vincent,” per a press release announcing the song’s release on Friday (March 7). Paisley took part in the star-studded performance after mourning the loss of his former L.A. home and honoring first responders who battled blazes amid the California wildfires earlier this year.
Paisley and Goldsmith plan to chat about “Raining Inside” live on Instagram at 5:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. CT.
The collaboration arrives shortly after Paisley announced details about his headlining “Truck Still Works Tour,” named after the nostalgic anthem he wrote with Chris Dubois, Will Bundy, Hunter Phelps and Rodney Clawson, and produced with Luke Wooten. The “Truck Still Works Tour” will include “Fancy Like” hitmaker Walker Hayes, plus Avery Anna, Mae Estes and Alexandra Kay and Dylan Scott on select dates.
