Why Cole Swindell Is 'Finally Looking Forward To A Monday'

Cole Swindell said on Friday afternoon (April 4) that he’s ā€œfinally looking forward to a Monday.ā€

The award-winning country star posted a sneak peek of an unreleased song as he teased ā€œnewsā€ coming up on Monday (April 7). Swindell’s sneak peek arrives shortly after he confirmed details about his fifth studio album, Spanish Moss, which is due to release on June 27. The 21-track record will also include ā€œKill A Prayer,ā€ the title track, and ā€œForever To Me,ā€ Swindell’s wedding song when he married wife and mother-to-be Courtney Little Swindell.

ā€œSpanish MossĀ has been a work in progress for over 2 years now,ā€ Swindell previously said in a statement. ā€œI knew it would be a tough task following upĀ StereotypeĀ and the success we had from that album, but sometimes a challenge can be motivating and exactly what’s needed to grow. For me, the album making process has always had a common theme ... best song wins. Although it’s never that simple.

ā€œLife has changed a lot for me in the best way since the last project and I wanted to be able write and sing about those blessings while also not forgetting where I came from and the pain from the past,ā€ he continued. ā€œOne of the beautiful things about music is even though you may not be currently going through something at this very moment, more than likely someone out there IS. I think this album is balanced that way and has a little bit of everything from songs like: ā€˜Kill A Prayer,’ ā€˜Dirty Dancing,’ ā€˜Forever to Me’ to ā€˜Dale Jr.,’ ā€˜Country Boy Can’t Survive,’ and ā€˜Heads Up Heaven.’ …I can’t wait for everyone to hear the entire album from top to bottom and I truly hope they can find a little of themselves and their own stories somewhere along the way inĀ Spanish Moss.ā€
