Carrie Underwood said she had an “epic” penultimate performance in her run of Vegas residency shows, “wardrobe malfunctions and all!”
Underwood opened up about the wardrobe malfunction in an Instagram caption on Saturday (April 12). She wrote as she shared a few photos by photographer Jeff Johnson from the REFLECTION residency show that took place Friday night (April 11):
“Last night was epic…wardrobe malfunctions and all! 😂 Nothing like being stuck out on stage with your booty on display! 😳🤪 That’s what makes a live show fun…the unpredictability! One thing I CAN always predict, though, is how awesome the crowd is going to be! Thanks for bringing it, #Vegas ! Let’s do it one final time tonight!”
Some commenters were quick to assure Underwood that they have “no doubt you handled it like a pro,” and they “don’t think any of (the fans in the audience) noticed the wardrobe malfunction,” among others. Underwood previously had to act quickly when she experienced a near wardrobe malfunction during a REFLECTION show in 2023. The eight-time Grammy Award winner told PEOPLE at that time: “A zipper busted open right before I went onstage. Luckily my dresser added a big bow, and no one knew the difference. Stage magic, people!”
Underwood — who recently resurfaced a rare wardrobe piece for a REFLECTION show — became the first and longest-running resident headliner at Resorts World Theatre when her residency kicked off in 2021. The electrifying show has featured Underwood’s career-spanning hits brought to life in jaw-dropping ways (including with fiery performances and a rushing waterfall). She previously said she’s “absolutely loved performing in Las Vegas” over the years, and REFLECTION “is truly one of my favorite shows to perform.” The final show takes place Saturday night.
