In the Feels: NFL Fan Follows Through On Promise To Help Animals

On Sunday, it was a rough night for defensive safety Tyrann Mathieu, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. His team lost the Super Bowl. And, he caught an interception from Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady -- that could have changed the outcome of the game.

Except, the play was overruled because of a penalty called by the referees.

Making matters worse, a fan had promised to donate $100,000 to the animal rights group PETA if Tyrann caught the interception.

Officially, Tyrann didn’t get the interception.

But, the fan still stepped up and made the donation.

Tyrann -- who has the nickname “Honey Badger” -- is a longtime supporter of animal rights.

The donation is a big deal.

And even though his team lost the big game -- and he didn’t officially get that interception -- an anonymous fan still followed through and wrote the check to help animals in need.
