Kelsea Ballerini turned to social media to respond to a fan's heartfelt letter with words of encouragement after not being able to find her address.
A 12-year-old girl named Ellie from Colorado sent the country singer an open letter about how Ballerini's music has helped her get through tough times. The fan shared how tough middle school has been revealing how others bully her and put her down with negative words.
"I've been feeling really sad because people have said some nasty things that I try not to acknowledge," Ellie writes. "Sometimes it feels like the world will end if I start showing what's under my skin."
She continues on to share how Ballerini's music has taught her otherwise. She shares that it's inspired her so much that she now wants to audition for America's Got Talent with her song "Homecoming Queen?"
"I love all music and I am seriously considering auditioning for America's Got Talent so I can sing 'Homecoming Queen?' I love singing," she adds.
Ballerini was touched by Ellie's letter prompting a her response which she started with "Middle school was really hard for me too."
She continues, "It's a time when everyone is starting to discover who they are, it's awkward and emotional, and unfortunately the way some people feel like they have it together is by tearing other people apart."
The singer offered her advice to "breathe through it and let it roll off of you," reminding Ellie that "it's not your weight to carry. It will make you stronger and full of grace."
Ballerini concludes her letter with a few final words of encouragement. "I promise that middle school will be over before you know it. Hang in there, my little homecoming queen. Sending you so much love and light. PS- go try out!!! You have my vote.💗👑"
